Davies Chartered Loss Adjusters announces two new appointments

Davies Chartered Loss Adjusters has announced two new appointments.

Iain Maclean assumes a place on the operations board with his appointment to the post of project managed subsidence services director.

With a combined 33 years split between construction and loss adjusting, Maclean brings extensive experience to his new position.

He joined the firm two years ago, tasked with the development of a high-quality and cost-effective project designed to handle subsidence claims.

The subsidence division launched halfway through last year, and under Maclean’s leadership has doubled the firm’s market share.

Nick Gazzard has been named as the new associate director responsible for heading up the group’s corporate governance.

Gazzard, who leaves behind his responsibility for Davies LLP’s compliance, is to report directly to the board.

In his new role he will be responsible for internal control management and ensuring that systems and procedures are maintained so that statue law and FSA regulations are met by all the companies within the Davies Group.

Ernst & Young poach Summersgill

Ernst & Young has appointed Mick Summersgill to serve as the director of the recently established dedicated insurance run-off team.

Summersgill leaves behind the position of chief financial officer for discontinued operations in the UK, which he held with Zurich.

Earlier in career he worked for KPMG as a member of the insurance solutions team.

He is to play a critical role in Ernst & Young’s development of a strategic restructuring proposition.

Summersgill’s experience in practice across the industry will be invaluable to the firm, according to lead run-off partner Kevin Gill.
