Holding The Fort in Edinburgh

Which also means holding a wrench to a kitchen sink pipe and holding a bucket to a ceiling drip. Aah, but all things come in 3's and we also had the apartment shower stop working on a guest. Thankfully L.Muck was still here, and efficient Lady that she is, managed to have a new shower installed the same day. An emergency plumber call out isn't cheap but there's no option when it comes to our guests... Back to the drips. If anyone has 2 small wrenches I can borrow please drop them in the mail box. Currently when I try to tighten one nut with a wrench fit for the forth road bridge (and what L.Muck was thinking when she bought it, spiders perhaps??), another loosens. There's very little room to work too as the slow drip is in a tight spot right under the cold water tap. I had my head under the sink the other night making things worse (the rest of me was under there too of course). I would make the drip better, then make it worse again, then better, then much worse, I left it in one of my 'better' statuses and have not opened the cabinet door since. Should I call in the plumber is the question or is there another solution for very slow drips? Now, I was talking to a friend last night on the phone and he suggested that I just turn the water off, remove the section of flexible piping, clean it, and reinstall it. Men! If I had some wellies here perhaps I would give that a try... This friend I was on the phone with, I have not talked to since primary school in Kinlochewe. We were very good friends back then, his family and mine being very close. I'll not tell you how many years ago that was as L.Muck will surely kill me, or at least pull out my fingernails. He may well visit Edinburgh for a day while I'm here, that would be nice, especially if he owns a wrench. Note to 'my friend', if he's reading this, I would like to clarify.. again.. that I do not have pretty pigtails with ribbons. This Shabby Chick has also been working on a Shabby Chic project. it's complete now, all I have to do is humpff the cabinet upstairs. It's actually an old bar that was a really dark brown. I added about 57 coats of cream paint and sanded the top layer of white down in areas to expose a pale pink paint... a fine job too if I do say so myself. And talking of pale colours, L.Mucks better half will soon be a pale colour himself.. 1st L reporting from Edinburgh.
